submission guidelines

What sort of articles is CoFR looking for? check out the about page for more details.

Basic Submission Guidelines:

  • article is < (less than) 3 months old
  • article has only been or will be submitted to only one other carnival besides CoFR
  • one submission per blogger per edition
  • article submitting is written by submitter
  • article due at noon EST two days before the publish date
  • blogger whose article is included in the carnival is required to link back to the carnival edition from his/her own site
  • article is relevant to personal finance

Other Submission Notes:

  • if the submission is a post where you are writing about another personal finance related idea/post/service/product/etc, YOUR post must be greater than 200 words, and include your take on the resource, etc.  please don’t just submit a ‘this is a cool post on this personal finance book..’ with a link to it.  tell us about it!
  • try to write about something someone else may not have thought of.  the more unique, the more possibly interesting!  for instance, certainly CoFR welcomes book reviews on Dave Ramsey’s Total Money Makeover, but how about on a less well known piece of literature instead?  but, please still keep it relevant to the carnival, and hopefully something a wide audience can benefit from.
  • pretty much all submissions that are not spam, blatant advertisements of one’s own product or services, and that follow the guidelines and notes above will be accepted.  however, if there are say, 5 reviews on the same topic (eg, ‘wamu offers online 1-yr cd at 5% and why you should take advantage of it!’), CoFR may select the one most interesting/thorough/etc. to include in the next edition of the carnival instead of all of them.

beyond these guidelines, the final entries to be included in an edition is to the (reasonable) discretion of the host of that edition.

submit an article to the next edition of CoFR !
